I have never been to Japan, but still, I know that it is a country which had been almost destroyed after the world war II, and now if you search on google for images of current Hiroshima you notice how Japanese people work hard to build their cities. We know that Japan is a capable nation on many sides; mainly on the level of technology and it is considered a de facto nuclear state.
However, if I have to answer the question I shall bring in mind the fact that the Japanese culture itself played a crucial role in the nineteenth century and before; they are known for hard working and other values that had and still have a great impact on Japanese’ lives. They do not have an organized religion that controls every aspect of political life like in Morocco or Iran. I mentioned religion because of its strong relationship to culture; in many cases religion determines the culture of a nation or group if people who see it as their identity.
Japan is the country where many famous corporations are based, where Anime art was invented, where people have freedom to be creative… it deserves one’s visit to see the Japanese culture in closer. The question why would a state fail or succeed is related to its political situation. There is no probably a formula to apply on the economy in order to advance, because if that was the case, many undeveloped countries would follow it, but rather it’s a matter of policy. In order for a nation to be developed, there should be good policy.
